Broadcasting goodwill

One small action. One big impact.

Getting reliable information to rural people in Africa

Former national broadcaster, Lloyd Robertson has been a supporter of Farm Radio International for many years.

It all began on a bumpy bus ride in Zambia.

It was 1975, and his great friend and fellow broadcaster, George Atkins, had an idea.
An idea that has gone on to improve the lives of millions of the world’s most vulnerable farmers.
And although George is gone now, Lloyd remains incredibly proud of the legacy he has left behind him. The lives that have changed…and the thousands of compassionate Canadians who came together to help him.

George’s idea became Farm Radio International, an organization that in 2023 broadcasted to 24.1 millions rural people in Africa, with reliable information aimed to to build food security, combat climate change and support gender equality.

And you can ensure those programs stay on the air long into the future. One small action - one gift of generosity - can have a tremendous impact.
