EVENT | Rural Voices: Listening to small-scale producers and agri-entrepreneurs

Food Systems Summit Affiliated Session

Affiliated Session during the Pre-Summit of the United Nations Food Systems Summit 2021

Tuesday, 27 July 2021
13:30-14:20 CEST / 7:00-8:20am EDT
Held virtually | Session website and RSVP (HERE)

Ahead of the 2021 United Nations Food Systems Summit, this pre-summit affiliated session amplifies the voices of small-scale producers and agri-entrepreneurs in poor and marginalized areas who may not otherwise be heard. This session brings their opinions to the fore, to ensure they are heard and shared with those making decisions so that they too can participate in the unfolding global dialogue around the future of farming, food distribution and value chains.

Through video, audio recordings and live participation, the event fosters an open discussion between rural people and decision makers. It will feature the voices of rural people captured through an innovative interactive radio project led by Farm Radio International and created to gather their views, outline their challenges and offer the solutions they believe will make food systems more sustainable and ensure nutritious food and equitable livelihoods.

A partnership between: International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Farm Radio International, Global Citizen and World Vision Canada.
