Program design may be described as the oil that lubricates the engine of any edutainment radio program.

Technology has empowered our audience to the extent that they have become equal partners in content generation. Gone are the days when journalists owned all the knowledge and were in the business of transfering it to a passive audience. Most people now have access to any information at a click of a button.

The more we engage our target audiences in designing our program structure, the higher the chance of being heard. You may call it crowdsourcing, participatory or citizen journalim, but lets do all we can to make our audience get engaged in issues affecting them.

Multimedia platform provides a better avenue for this strategy. Cellphones and social media, if well managed, makes t possible to interact with our audience and solicit relevant informatuon.

In addition to telephony, modern mobile phones also support a wide variety of other services such as text messaging, MMS, email, Internet access, short-range wireless communications (infrared, Bluetooth), business applications, gaming and photography. Mobile phones that offer these and more general computing capabilities are referred to as smartphones..
