Kielburgers: radio a self-help tool for farmers

Free the Children founders Craig and Marc Kielburger know that development work involves more than building schools or wells.

“In many cases, […] communities are perfectly capable of helping themselves,” they say. “It’s just a matter of getting them the information they need.”

This is the message of a recent Huffington Post article about Farm Radio International’s work in Ada, a small district in rural Ghana. In Africa, radio is king, especially for farmers who work long hours in the field. It’s the tried and true go-to source for information.
