Valentine’s Day is for lovers. The day before is for lovers of radio.
Taking place each year on February 13, World Radio Day is a global celebration of the power of radio.
All around the world, radio entertains and informs us. It connects and transforms. It has power — even in today’s high-tech world. Radio may be old, but it’s still relevant.
In fact, newer technologies are making radio more powerful and important than ever before. And, as we know here at Farm Radio International, it is the communication tool that many people rely on most.
Love radio? Share why!
Do you love radio? On World Radio Day, share your reasons for loving radio with the world using #iloveradio on social media.
Better yet, sign up for our World Radio Day Thunderclap. Thunderclap is a social media amplification tool that allows people to pledge a tweet, Facebook post, or Tumblr post to be shared alongside all other supporters’ messages at a specific time in the future. Think of it like an “online flash mob” that helps a message get noticed.
And it couldn’t be any easier to help spread the word! Here’s how:
- Visit the World Radio Day Thunderclap and click “Support with Twitter,” “Support with Facebook,” or “Support with Tumblr.”
- Take a moment to customize the message by adding your own personal reasons for loving radio and then click “Add my Support.”
- Once you’re done, you’ll have the option to invite friends to join the Thunder. Please take this last step to help spread the word.
It’s that easy! Follow those steps and your #iloveradio message will automatically be posted on your behalf on World Radio Day.
Our goal is to get 100 people to share their #iloveradio messages in celebration of World Radio Day. By participating in the campaign and helping to spread the word, you can help us reach our goal!
